I enjoyed every episode and I don't really have much negative to say about it. S2 is not as good, but it has its moments (particularly episode 10). S2 also suffers because the showrunners tried to fit something like 5 years of events into 12 episodes, and the constant timeskips really hurt the storytelling and character development. The show was written by literal communists, so you will have to keep that in mind as you watch. S1 is not too heavy-handed with the political messaging, but S2 can be at times. Gilroy gave interviews saying that he based Cassian's character off of young Josef Stalin, which is a crazy thing to say, but that gives a little insight into the people behind the show - typical subversive, pretentious Hollywood types who live their entire lives in ivory towers. The first 3 episodes of S2 have a subplot about illegal immigrant farmers that feels very forced; the only saving grace for these episodes is that they also feature a separate story for Cassian that is really interesting. Overall I would strongly recommend watching S1. S2 I would tentatively recommend but with a warning that it's just not as good as S1. Both are better than anything else Disney has made since buying the IP.
