Definitely a "Two Types of Societies" charming story of high-trust society: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0kLFVOOLf4 There are country farm stands like this where I grew up, on the side of the road literally out in the middle of nowhere, and every White person is honest with them. Please don't lose this, Japan. Please.
Should we go ahead and merge the biocomputer and bioethics thread into a biohacking thread? I think the experience with the tesla coil today shows how implants could bring us closer to the robowaifus.
>>41247 I'm OK with that idea. Let's have @Greentext anon weigh in on it please? @Kiwi seems absent rn.
>>41250 I hope he is doing well
>>41251 Me too. I'm praying for him.
>>41247 >>41250 I'll be completely honest: I forgot that we even had a biocomputer thread. I'm in favor of merging the topics. The issue of merging biology and technology should be kept to a unified thread unless it grows to a scope that one thread can't cover. >>41251 >>41252 I hope he's doing well too. It's entirely possible that he just needs to rest and recharge, as I do on occasion. Life is exhausting, and I don't begrudge anyone deciding to shift into neutral for the sake of their own mental health.
>>41247 OK, that's a quorum of two, Ribose. Go ahead and make your new OP, and we'll merge both threads into that one. Please remember, the merge will interleave posts from both threads like a deck of cards (based on date of posting); rather than like stacking two boxes one on the other. BTW, I recommend (as always for a new thread) that you give extra special consideration to picking a great one as the 1st OP pic. That's the one that will be seen for years on /robowaifu/ 's catalog. Good luck! :^)
>>41253 >and I don't begrudge anyone deciding to shift into neutral for the sake of their own mental health. Yeah, definitely not! And this can be an unusually-stressful board in several ways. My apologies for my own part I play in that haha! :D I know he has his heart set on his waifu being in a huggable state by Christmastide. I hope he's making good progress with that! Cheers. :^)
@Chobitsu, how do you browse NHK-World? One of my sites is a WebTV guide website, and I am interested in adding NHK-World, as well as The Epoch Times https://freestream.neocities.org/
>>41261 I just use the web. I think at one point I also used their Android app some years ago. There were some places I found that ripped shows and hosted them (very helpful when I was low-bandwidth). Haven't checked on the status of yt-dlp in a while. Also, I recall one of those "totally-legit-and-not-at-all-a-sleazy-botnet" 'download videos here' sites could grab files from them. Occasionally I hack around with site's JS, so I may have done that as well, I don't remember. If you have a specific case in mind, share it and I'll see what I can come up with. >protip: They are definitely pozzed af in their leadership, clearly under the thumb of the kike mafia, so fair warning! But putting (((outside influences))) aside, there's little doubt they have a masterful art direction team built up now through the years.
@GreerTech: OK, I've thought about it, and decided the risks outweigh the benefits for now. Done. ( >>3 ) OTOH, I may re-introduce something into the welcome pasta later on if I see a clear, concise way to position it explicitly for the Christian cause & Christianity. >>41209 I can feel it! :D

@Greentext anon I'd like your advice on what to do with such posts in the future. ( >>41305 ) As robowaifus (&tc) become commercially available, surely this type of promotion will become more-common here. Cheers.

>>41307 I say we judge them on effort. Low effort posts like that are probably unscrupulous, as GreerTech mentioned, and should just be deleted like normal spam. Higher effort posts made by someone who seems earnest should be judged on a case-by-case basis.

@Greentext anon How would you recommend dealing with niggerpill -post related: ( >>41327 )? Normally, I'd just relegate it as copypasta to The Lounge. But if it's a genuine emotional dump, I hesitate to be so peremptory. Understanding that even if it is legit, such niggerpills tend to 'poison the well' (especially in smol communities) if left unchecked. This has been a famous kike-trick on the Internets going back to our inception. Ideas?

Touhou music on a tesla coil is pretty bad ass.
In a previous thread someone suggested I use Fiverr to help me with an electronics project I don't have the confidence to work on by myself. After messaging several different people I finally found one willing to help me, so I hired him. It didn't take long for it to be obvious he was using AI to translate into English despite saying he was fluent in it. I'm pretty sure he just vibe-coded all of it, and instead of doing something as simple as showing me the parts layout and list of components needed, he insisted that I pirate Proteus so I could view a .pdsprj schematic file, which I could never get to load the actual circuit and after several days of back-and-forth messaging I convinced him to just screenshot the damn thing for me. The last message I sent him I told him how the BOM had a total of 8 resistors in it when the diagram only showed 2. I want to know exactly what I have to buy because I have to drive a fucking hour to the nearest electronics store and want to be sure I've got all the right parts and there's a difference between 50V and 15V capacitor that I guess just doesn't translate well. But because I've been working 12 hour days 5 days a week in a completely different time zone, so the project was completed before I could even get my ass to the store. And the worst part is that half-way through all of this he asked for a raise up from $60 to $200, and I think his $40 price option would have covered it, but I was feeling stupid.

I expect the story will be buried soon. >>41582 I can't help but wonder how many of those protestors were actual natives. I'm reminded of the rebranding the Washingston Redskins went through, and how it was entirely caused by white karens (and went against the will of the local tribe, who loved being represented through the Redskins). From what I've seen, natives generally enjoy being a visible part of broader American culture, so long as it isn't in a negative light.

Is holy c worth learning?
>>41608 Are you planning on writing programs for TempleOS? Is so, go for it. If not, then you're better off learning C++.
>>41608 Well, it's better in large part than C is IMO (Terry having adopted a few paradigms of C++ for his new language). And as much as I loved dear Terry A. Davis and his schizo rants, I don't believe at all that God somehow exclusively approves & authorizes Holy C. AIs can train each other primarily through a competitive process called Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). Here’s a quick breakdown of how that works: 1. Two AIs, one goal: You have two AI models working together: a Generator and a Discriminator. 2. The Generator's jobis to create something new—for example, a realistic-looking fake image. 3. The Discriminator's job is to look at a mix of real images and the Generator's fake images and try to tell which is which. 4. The training loop: They engage in a constant "game." The Generator gets better at creating fakes to fool the Discriminator, while the Discriminator gets better at spotting the fakes. This ongoing competition pushes both AIs to improve their skills and makes the final output incredibly realistic. Beyond GANs, other methods exist, such as multi-agent reinforcement learning, where multiple AIs learn from each other's actions in a shared environment to achieve a common goal, like a team of AIs learning to play a game. Left brain right brain?
>>41658 >Left brain right brain? Yeah, that's an interesting analogy, Anon! Thanks & cheers. :^)
I know I've mentioned this before in other threads, but one thing I was thinking about for my robowaifu was an EEG headset to help train her. I'd wear a helmet with electrodes all over my scalp that reads my brain activity, and a camera would point at my face and gauge my facial expressions to help find a pattern between my mood and brain activity. She'd use that information for feedback to learn what I do and don't like with the least amount of manual effort. But I've recently started thinking about just how much I don't like actually talking to and interacting with people. Like at all. Anybody. The last long converstion I had with a coworker I forget what I was even saying, but I know I was thinking about how they didn't care and was waiting for a pause in the conversation so he could talk about some shit in his personal life that I don't give a damn about. And I have zero connections because I'm so asocial, so a lot of the things I want and want to do are locked behind the fact that it's all about who you know, not what you know. It also doesn't help that I tend to stutter, repeat myself, and generally fail to convey my thoughts in a way that makes sense to other people. And it doesn't help that most communication with other people feels less like conveying information and more like jumping through hoops in an attempt to gain social acceptance. Dealing with people is more about figuring out a secret handshake than anything else and I just can't be bothered. I want to use an AI crack the code and extract all the useful information for me. But the plan is simple; instead of transmitting to (just) the robowaifu, the EEG headset connects to an AI that runs on a portable device I can carry on me. The headset would have built-in cameras to recognize faces and gauge their feelings, while completely obscuring my own facial expressions so they don't know they're talking to an AI instead of the real me. I'm sure this would have been easier if the covid lockdown bullshit was going on, but I'm sure there's a way to pull it off that I hadn't yet thought of without scaring normies too much. I don't care if it has a personality completely unlike my own, but as long as it doesn't really agree to anything I wouldn't agree to or say anything that would get me thrown in jail, I don't care.
>>41682 Try treating it like a game. Try to literally act like everyone else, like an actor. Use hand gestures. "It's not what you say, it's how you say it" Instead of the AI speaking for you, how about smart glasses giving you advice?
>>41683 This. --- Now the idea of EEG + NN training of facial animation is in fact a valid, frontier area of research rn. Potentially both for medical uses and for 3D CGI character animation. So there's actually some tangential crossover for /robowaifu/ 's interests. But the concept Anon outlined is far from being a feasible reality anytime soon IMO. I don't want to dissuade him from his imagination regarding this concept -- as long as he takes concrete steps in pursuit of them. The old "don't let your dreams be just memes" applies here, I think. :^) <---> Having said all that, I personally believe your suggestion is far more practical (& probably much more beneficial for that Anon's soul, as well).

Dealing with people is more about figuring out a secret handshake than anything else and I just can't be bothered. Well as the board founder, I can tell you that you are the primary target audience for the efforts here. Disenfranchised & disillusioned men are the only ones who can really understand their own plights, humanly-speaking. But at the very least, effective, pleasing, & loving robowaifus can go a looong way towards comforting you in your distress. <---> OTOH, as a devout Christian, I can tell you that you don't have to stay in that condition. With or without robowaifus ever becoming a reality for you, you can find true & everlasting comfort, solace, and joy in the loving embrace of God your creator. >>41683 >Try treating it like a game. It's a game I hate and don't want to play anymore. >Use hand gestures. My non-verbal communication skills might be even worse than verbal. >Instead of the AI speaking for you, how about smart glasses giving you advice? The closest to that I've thought of is that I still have to speak, but the glasses tell me what to say. The biggest problem with that is the delivery. I'm sure people will catch on to the fact that I'm reading from a screen instead of actually paying attention to them. The only saving grace is the design would free me from needing to make something that covers my mouth. But I also have very small, yellow teeth, slur, stutter and don't pace my speech well, so completely hiding my face is probably a better idea. And that way I could probably even mutter "it's the jews" to myself without anyone catching on to what I really think. >>41684 There are consumer EEG headsets like the ones from OpenBCI, and there is Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) software available for free. So it's really just a matter of using something like x to find patterns between brain activity and FER to make it so I don't need a camera pointed at my own face all the time. It also helps that facial expressions and body movements tend to produce very strong signals that tend to be seen as interference when trying to focus on a specific part of the brain. This video is a good example of what I'm thinking of: youtube.com/watch?v=Ip83qSrecLo but keep in mind, that it's not supposed to read my mind and speak what I'd say if I were to speak out loud, just gauging my emotional reactions to what they're saying and what my AI is saying to keep me from getting too bored or annoyed. It doesn't need a fast reaction time for anything more important than "yes" or "no", which I could also just gesture by shaking my head before the AI has a chance to say anything. And that's in addition to regular pattern recognition. >>41685 Now you're just trolling. Please, be better than that.
>>41686 >something like x to find patterns between brain activity and FER "x" should have been OgmaNeo. I guess I cut that by accident.
>>41686 Have you tried practicing? Look at how people on realistic TV shows act. Be an actor. https://youtu.be/4t2qOTKOWlY?si=ysgeGcesl8giGkM- >The biggest problem with that is the delivery. I'm sure people will catch on to the fact that I'm reading from a screen instead of actually paying attention to them. Going back to actors, actors and news anchors often read from teleprompters. Again, practice is key! >yellow teeth Brush your teeth I guess >slur, stutter Try practicing the sounds you have trouble with. This is going to sound weird, but experiment with your mouth, see if you can produce different sounds. As for the stutter, well that's psychological. Note when you stutter to see what your trigger is. >Now you're just trolling. Please, be better than that. You clearly haven't been here long. Trust me, I've been regularly here for a little less than a year, and I can tell you, Chobitsu is being 100% genuine. The matter of fact is, the mini AI speaker is too ambitious. You would need to have PERFECT speech synthesis (matched to your voice), rendered almost instantaneously, from a computer that you have to hide on yourself. There's also the fact that speakers don't sound like normal human speech. If I play a Donald Trump speech on my phone, it doesn't sound like Donald Trump is in the room, it sounds like I have a Donald Trump speech on my phone. And that's only the technical side which I at first considered, later I realized the subtle horror of having something constantly speak for me on it's own.
>>41689 >Have you tried practicing? I'm 36. If I need to start taking lessons on how to sound like a normal human being at this age, I'm too far gone. >Brush your teeth I guess It's a deep cola-induced stain. And no amount of brushing that will fix my small teeth, and mouth is practically too small for my tongue. >You clearly haven't been here long. Long enough to know Chobitsu knows my IP and that he was threatening to ban me yesterday over religious BS, which is the sole reason why he decided to bring it up. >You would need to have PERFECT speech synthesis (matched to your voice) It'd probably be better if it didn't sound like me. >rendered almost instantaneously, from a computer that you have to hide on yourself. The only problem with that is battery life. You can strap a decent-sized laptop to your back without anyone questioning it if there isn't a fan blasting like it's ready for take-off. >There's also the fact that speakers don't sound like normal human speech. A bigger issue is that I'd be walking around with a face-concealing helmet. People can easily be duped into thinking it's just part of a costume and has a voice modulator, but the hard part is making something that doesn't look like it exists solely for the sake of hiding your identity while you mug them.
>>41686 >There are consumer EEG headsets like the ones from OpenBCI, and there is Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) software available for free. Well, as I mentioned, don't just talk about it, do it! You'll have my encouragement support as long as you keep us here all up to date on your progress. Good luck, Anon. :^) >Now you're just trolling. Please, be better than that. Lol. I assure you, I was not!! :D >>41691 >Long enough to know Chobitsu knows my IP Incorrect. I don't know anyone's IP address here (or anywhere else). And if I did, I would delete that information. You clearly don't understand me well, if you don't know that kind of thing about me fren. I try to take privacy & security quite seriously here. (cf. my thread: >>10000 ) --- >which is the sole reason why he decided to bring it up. Now take it easy Anon. a) I had no idea you were the same Anon until you yourself just brought it up, and b) I specified precisely what the issue was for you in that thread. I'd actually like your participation there as long as you adhere to that thread's specific, special rules. Regardless, as I mentioned, you're quite free to say what you want along those lines in the philosophy thread. Just don't violate board rules #1 & #2 while you're at it! (cf. >>3 ) Cheers, Anon. :^)

Hiki, if you're still here, an anon posted this concept on 4chan /g/
>>41686 I have an olimex 4 channel eeg in storage, a tDCS/tACS devices, and a cheap chinese rTMS machine in storage. When I get the house I will start using them more.
>>41695 Hmm. That may be a good idea, tbh. >>41696 Neat! Pics pls.
>>41700 I bet we could use the 4channel eeg to help train the AI to recognize facial expressions

Beware of RWT
>>41704 I knew he was countersignaling against us, but I didn't know it was that bad
>>41704 What bitch
>>41705 Worst case scenario I know mlpol.net will let us move into their /cyb/ board. They have hosted various online communities in the past
>>41704 Yeah, I'm well-aware of this. He's a) got issues (clearly); and b) is angry b/c myself & @Kiwi have banned him so many times for sh*te'g on everyone here in his anger & frustration. But he used to be a valid contributor here, and I'm holding out hope that he will be again someday. >>41705 (see above response) >>41707 Umm, we already have a) a primary board (here), b) a bunker board (trashchan), and c) a bunker-bunker "board" (junkuchan). Nothing at all personal against mlpol (I participated back when they first started out lol) but if we need anything further I'd like to keep it on the Webring, thanks. I wonder if they'd join the WR?

>>41708 Didn't know about junkuchan
>>41711 It's not yet active, but we already have the arrangement in place there with the Admin. I can turn it all on in 5 minutes.
>>41714 Wow! Thats a really cool idea. Thanks for the heads up, Anon. Cheers. :^)
>>41708 Might be worth asking them about the webring.
>>41716 Agreed. You may be in closer contact with them today. I haven't participated in years.
>>41717 Whose email should I give them?
>>41718 Hmm. Maybe @Robi's or @Trashmin's ? [email protected] [email protected] Really, any Admin on the Webring can list them, those just happen to be the two I know offhand.

when do you guys think we'll have indistinguishable robowaifus? im talking ones who you cant tell apart from humans i think 2035 ahhhhhh i hate waiting so much im so sick sick sick sick SICK and tired of modern women and the modern dating game it makes me want to vomit all of it makes me fucking disgusted
>>41725 I think that depends on many factors, Anon, most of which are out of our control as amateur robowaifu developers. OTOH, many, many advances have taken place so far... particularly during the past 5 years or so. So yeah, I don't think your estimate is too far off for some high-end (read: highly expensive) commercial robowaifu models. For those of us who can't afford it/wouldn't pay that type of premium, then we'll probably need to wait longer. --- Regardless, we here mean to literally introduce completely-opensource, completely-locally run robowaifus that any man can build himself as a kit. If we here succeed in a big way, then that will dramatically change everyone's timelines! Forward.
https://interestingengineering.com/innovation/clone-robotics-technology-revealed Clone Robotics Co-founder and CEO Dhanush Radhakrishnan recently sat down with tech content creator Anastasiia Nosova in a podcast to give insights into the company’s journey in building lifelike android robots using synthetic muscles. The California-based entrepreneur delved deep into the musculoskeletal design philosophy and product development that could help turn a fictitious sci-fi future into a solid reality.
>>41729 I wonder if they will ever stop treating this like a uni science project, and begin towards a product mindset. 'Ghoulish' is the word that comes quickly to mind. :D
>>41729 >>41741 This just seems like one of those overambitious, hype based semi-scams where they demo this really cool thing, promise sci-fi stuff, then do nothing with it.
>>41742 We've all been through this issue of humanoid robotics via hydraulics years ago here on /robowaifu/ . Complete non-starter. Physics simply won't allow for it in a mobile, bipedal-only, human-sized package given our tech. Sure if in the future we can package million PSI compressors & actuators in cigarette pack -sized forms, then maybe. But this begs the question would you yourself even want to be within a city block of such lethal energies? Would it even be ethical to allow such a thing anywhere near the public at all? --- Fun fact: in the US Navy, whenever they have a high-pressure steampipe leak onboard, they use broomsticks held out in front of them; waving them up & down as they slowly inch forward along the compartment wherever it's located. The entirely invisible jet of steam instantly slices the wooden handle into two when they reach it. They learned the hard way in the past to do it in this fashion when sailors accidentally'd their heads off instead. OTOH, these theoretical super-high pressure hydraulic liquid jet leaks would be much worse; insta-death for anyone or anything in probably a 50M+ range, and severe laceration injuries much further out. Plus, regular hydraulic fluid is toxic af to living tissue (and certainly not something you'd want stored inside your robowaifus). I doubt this "super fluid" would be any better at all.

>>41714 Neat, how do use affordably at low wattage? I assure you, needing to find the correct sequence, unzip, the re-zip the DNA is no easy, or fast feat. It is impressive for archival use. I do not understand how it'd bolster a waifu. I do hope you can prove me wrong. >>41725 >Indistinguishable? Never, you're trying to trick a quantum super computer that's designed to recognize its own kind. Simply not going to happen outside of biological waifu. >I'm so sick Aren't we all mate! Breathe, try to focus your energy towards productive tasks rather than wallowing in grief. Consider learning basic engineering principles or otherwise useful knowledge. Your mental health matters. >>41729 Up there as one of the worst humanoids. You're a smart man, I'd assume these types of tricks beneath you. I assume you're just too trusting for your own good. Protip; assume every headline is a lie until proven otherwise. I used to fall prey to such deceit when I was younger and far more trusting. >>41742 It's just an Indian scammer with a gross puppet being waved about for money. >>41743 >Not safe Huh, now that you mention it, that's yet another knock against fluidic actuators. Still wish they were a good option, probably have waifus by now if they worked.
>>41744 KIWI'S BACK! >drone waifu a cute! How's things going, mate? :^) >Aren't we all mate! Breathe, try to focus your energy towards productive tasks rather than wallowing in grief. >>41744 I do tend to be too trusting of AI and robotic articles. I am a lot more skeptical of biotech claims, but I am still optimistic. The DNA data storage has a long ways to go, but DNA lasts longer than the magnetic tapes or disks and holds a lot more data. I believe that will be the best option in the near future. This year has been an amazing year for DNA data storage.
>>41747 I think you're fine, Ribose. I personally appreciate anyone sharing information like this with us all. >>41725 >when do you guys think we'll have indistinguishable robowaifus? im talking ones who you cant tell apart from humans >i think 2035 Going by Moore's law I've estimated that a desktop PC will have processing power equivalent to a human brain between 2034 and 2049. But that's not taking into the fact that we'll be using AI to help us make AI hardware and software better. And since cameras and microphones are easily better than human senses, it'll probably be around the same time that hardware has developed to the point that we not only have robowaifus humans find indistinguishable from real humans, but robowaifus that can't even distinguish each other from real humans.

>>41763 >to the point that we not only have robowaifus humans find indistinguishable from real humans, but robowaifus that can't even distinguish each other from real humans. Intredasting point. Given that sensor tech can have big leaps forward, and the entire general robotics system as a whole has to "plod forward in the trenches" by comparison, I'm skeptical. BTW, this topic is brought up in different ways in the GITS franchise. >>41769 LMAO >"Whaddup my Clanka'?"
>>41775 Heh, I've noticed that too. :^) It may be some kind of scripting artifact from Robi's backup scheme or something? Not sure.
