Exactly so. >And ofc, no Earthly law can supersede a Holy marriage, the actual marriage. Many people, including many Christians, seem to confuse legal marriage with actual marriage. Completely so. They've long-supported feminism, and "love is love" faggot BS. Only the "hey, it's a great idea to mutilate little kids at 6 years old goyim!111" finally got their attention enough to push back some. Sheesh. I love these people (I are one... :D, but do they ever in fact read their Bibles? >It's funny, we ended up in the Futurama timeline. >>42500 >As mentioned, I wont by any measure defend typical (((lawmakers))) I share your view, but if it weren't for my hyperspecific and esoteric interest in social robotics, I would wholeheartedly agree with that bill. >This exposes their ignorance, IMHO. We are very close now to initial prototypes. Yeah, "we", us in our corner of the web. Right now we're in the "secret society via obscurity" stage. For most normies, what they know of AI and robotics is: -Boston Dynamics -Those Unitree robots -ChatGPT -Grok Ani -(maybe) real doll Some Otaku may know the concept from anime, but mostly as a fantasy on par with Lamia girls. That is why I am so gung-ho about guerilla internet marketing/promotion. My goals are to promote the very concept of robowaifus, the fact that robowaifus are a practical thing, promote /robowaifu/, and promote Galatea to add it to the normie knowledge list.
>>42504 If you think about it, people like me and Mechnomancer are basically one-man breakaway civilizations, living in a world of talking humanoid robots, plasma blasters, and mechs.

ClosedAI is bound to fail. ClosedAI is super incompetent, the only reason they are still successful is because of being the first big player and being the AWS of AI. They swallow funding like a black hole, while getting beat out by other competitors. Most of their consumer operations are still unprofitable, and their updates are unpopular in the AI scene. You can tell they're getting desperate, DeepSeek kicked their ass a few months ago on the general chatbot scene, and Grok is catching up with visuals. Even Sam's stock market boyfriend is losing hope. It is gleeful to see them about to fail, but considering how much the US economy is propped up by AI, it also scares me.

>>42755 Man, I'd love for it to be real, but why does (almost) every Chinese robot video have the same level of contrast/saturation?
>>42759 Heh. I don't know. But for the "naked" video in the lab, I've tried my level best reviewing it for about an hour on loop using mpv * and I can't detect any artifacts that make me think it's 3D CGI. IMHO, it would take a major effort by a CGI EFX house to pull that off, which doesn't seem at all reasonable to me for this context. >tl;dr It's real; and the hip complex's (&tc.) design is why it's able to reproduce the MOCAP actress's motion data so well (hip sway, leg toe-in arcs, torso to-the-counter, etc) [1]. >>42765 > I can't detect any artifacts that make me think it's 3D CGI The video has enough compression that any AI artifacts (eg noise) would be canceled out by the compression algorithm. AI generated images/videos always have a level of noise that make it difficult to use a magic wand/fuzzy select. Add some blur and decrease the resolution and you can pretty much eliminate it. Again, I would LOVE for it to be real but the industry has been burned before. If I'm wrong we all get neat robots, but if I'm right we've been bamboozled. I'd be glad to be wrong but at least if I'm right I get to say "I told you so" lol
>>42772 >The video has enough compression that any AI artifacts (eg noise) would be canceled out by the compression algorithm. Ehh, fair enough. But I think I've developed a pretty good eye through the years to pick out CGI work. They usually get the lighting wrong. No signs of that I can see there. :^) >I'd be glad to be wrong but at least if I'm right I get to say "I told you so" lol Kek. Fair enough then. Time will tell. Cheers. :^)
>"Reconstructing Reality: Simulating Indoor and Outdoor Environments for Physical AI" >"Developing physical AI requires scalable simulation environments that accurately reflect the real world, however, building high-fidelity digital twins is incredibly challenging. Learn how real-to-sim reconstruction using OpenUSD seamlessly brings the real world into simulation across domains, from indoor environments used to train humanoids and autonomous mobile robots to large-scale workflows for autonomous vehicles, aerial mapping, and underwater exploration. We’ll cover the reconstruction technologies that transform diverse sensor data into simulation-ready worlds for scalable autonomy, and show how partners are applying to their own development workflows." https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/on-demand/session/gtcdc25-dc51172/ <---> Even though I've been part of their developer program since it's inception, I've grown to absolutely loathe the company (primarily b/c of it's (((leadership today))) ). OTOH, if we can learn from and capitalize on their ideas for opensource robowaifu systems, then we should do so IMO.

>>43048 Great roundup, thanks Kiwi! Figure AI, Tesla, XPeng, and Unitree clearly stand apart from the rest in my estimate (for the moment...but who knows whats coming!?) * And just look at how fast this list is growing! A couple years ago it was less than a third of this number IIRC. What a time to be alive! Its like we've been transported back to the mid '70s and the beginning of the PC revolution all over again! Cheers. :^) --- * And this map doesn't even show the one and only (again, for the moment) Gynoid Robowaifu Companion from a major corporation (also designed by XPeng). In the end, this category will far outstrip the others, insofar as humanoids go. https://trashchan.xyz/robowaifu/thread/26.html#1335

>>42721 Apparently OpenAI is going to start integrating targeted advertising into their LLMs in a desperate attempt to make any profit. There's already some API code for it in their app and they've been hiring experts to make it work. I expect most of their free-tier users will migrate to the many remaining ad-free options once it goes through, and if they fuck up and taint the paid-level stuff then they'll bleed users across the board.
>>43097 >Apparently OpenAI is going to start integrating targeted advertising into their LLMs in a desperate attempt to make any profit. >>43102 >But then again the globohomo literally worship AI so they will try to astroturf it until it cannot be ignored. I think they worship their usual things: (((money & power))). LLM-based "AI" is merely the latest gayop to control the goyim, I deem. And so far, it seems to be working for them in the short-term (their endless go-to timeline, seemingly). Longterm however, it will fail to be sustainable (curr. est. ~US$1Bn burn rate daily just for ClosedAI alone). Of course, once it all crashes down around their heads they'll enact (((special emergency legislation))) to milk the hapless goyim for the payout -- as usual -- while they themselves continue to live fat & safely-protected from the repercussions of their evils...soon to begin their next set of gayop plots & schemes. And then the end comes for them, as it does for every man. It won't be quite so fun for these demonic & greedy kikes then!! :^)

>>43123 AI democratizes the mediocre. I've been using chatgpt to help expand on some creative ideas. While it is good at brainstorming it is not good at clever writing (merely mediocre writing). AI is like cruise control: even with cruise control you have to steer (which is rule #40 of the internet btw). AI is only good as the info you feed it: garbage in, garbage out. Example: I've asked it to imply a character has a trait and it goes "character says "I have this trait" " or some such. That is one of the things that hasn't changed since I started working with it years ago. While the perceived capacity of AI is useful to normies, to one who is an outlier (as most creatives are) it is substantially lacking.

>>43129 I feel like I'm part of the 1% who has a healthy view of AI, as a programmable talking info robot. People either see it as a demon or a god of knowledge. I was thinking about Chobitsu's statement in >>43127, "As if that disclaimer somehow excuses them in providing false information to the public! :D". I thought, well is that necessarily ClosedAI's fault? Sure, they're very happy with the arrangement, and will maintain it, even with hallucinations (>>41631), like in Chobitsu's statement, but at the same time, no one is forcing anyone to see it as a god. It's just a chatbot you can talk to online. People CHOSE to see it as an infallible god.

The difficulty I'm personally challenged with here on /robowaifu/ and in my own life is individuals having the seemingly-inescapable position that giant massive LLMs are "alive" and that they "think". LOL. These are transformers amped up to 111, plain and simple. You seem like a magnet for the spiritual. >>43137 >Now you begin to see how 'the Image of the Beast' is going to interact with humanity in the final days of this age, GreerTech. Very astute observation. I also have been mulling over Relevations in these troubled times. I don't think it's happening yet, but it's probably pretty close.
>>43136 Fuck it, /x/ stories thread Some backstory, my house is probably haunted for two reasons 1. It used to be owned by these two old ladies, and one died 2. We had these two older neighbors, two guys. My mom thought they were secretly gay, and they gave her really creepy vibes. They also died, and in the estate sale, there was strange esoteric stuff, like paintings and books. The hallway ghost >my home has a kitchen connected to a living room >be me in middle school >stressed as shit >briefly, for less than a second, see what looks like a walking corpse of a dog, but with gray skin >imagine the silent hill dog if it had intact gray skin >few years later >be me with my mom >we're playing a board game while eating >I clearly see a dark figure walk into the kitchen >call out to my brother since he used to wear a lot of dark clothing back then >turns out no one was there >the game we were playing was a game I made to test ESP Throughout the years, I would occasionally see shadow figures briefly out of the corner of my eyes. As a kid, I would also have this weird vision of a shadow person stalking me, like some sort of involuntary imagination The Backyard >our house has a walkway in between the house and the fence >this is next to the weird neighbors that died >my mom went out to smoke one day >she claims she saw an angry face come at her >be me, not knowing of that story at the time >go out to test silly little invention >instantly get this very creepy feeling, like I'm being watched and in danger >go inside
>>43141 Another story Me and my mom genuinely have very limited psychic powers. For example, she would know if I got in trouble at school, because she feel my anxiety. It wasn't like the school contacted her, because she's not the type to lie about that, and she still maintains it to this day >be me, in highschool >have this friend that lives several miles away >one day, feeling irritable and depressed despite having a good day >find out later her cat died >be me several years later >had broken up with ex >moved on, was living my life >in bathroom, washing hands after peeing >finish and go to wipe my hands >instantly felt down and exhausted, like when you're out for too long and want to go home >even said out loud "I want to home" >realize immediately I was acting weird, I was already home and fine >a few minutes later, my ex contacted me to try to reconcile (it didn't work out)
Alright, back on track

>>43140 >You seem like a magnet for the spiritual. I suppose so, and jeebus approves of me choosing not to cheat :) - My father used to be able to predict when my great-grandfather would travel across 3 states to visit/get away from his wife. - Modern stuff started when we were recording my great granny's funeral because my grandpa was recovering from a joint replacement. There were 2 dragonflys flying around the funeral checking everyone out and the ye olde camcorder had a "hello!" subtitle on the recording and we didn't know how. Turns out you can get it to activate by pressing a bajillion buttons. Grandpa said it was his dad's sense of humor. To this day dragonflys will fly around and check out stuff I'm working on XD - Mother claims to have dead folk tell her stuff. That is the sort of thing demons do to get ya, according to bonafide exorcists. And given her behavior I wouldn't be surprised. - My house probably can't be haunted because it was built by a (self ordained) minister who had services here. Part of me is considering getting ordained myself, since there are churches who will do it pretty much do the secular registration for free (even if they're heretics they could help somebody do good). >>43137 >individuals having the seemingly-inescapable position that giant massive LLMs are "alive" and that they "think" I recall the quote "Any sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic". People see something that is beyond themselves and they think it is instantly superior or whatever. Perhaps it stems from the lack of education in what makes something alive/intelligent (Actual Intelligence is doing something you are not programmed to do), or because they themselves are limited they assume this other thing is similar to them hence alive. I swear many folks are just wetware LLMs: they just parrot back stuff without adding to it. Indeed this may be the case for those without an interior monologue or aphantasia. There was a half-serious, half-joking discussion in a /robowaifu/ discord server where we came to the conclusion that if you want to make an Artificial Man, you would need an AGI after a decade of research, but to make an Artificial Woman, you just need a 12B-minimum LLM >what the fuck Mercury arc rectifier

I'm a little late responding to these posts, but until I can figure out how to proceed with my holowaifu project I'll find something else to do. >>43130 Some AIs are better at this than others. I'm slightly into astrology and my birth chart is all kinds of fucked, and I was born under a full moon. >>43199 It goes back further than most people know. Back in the 80s Japan's economy was growing mightily and the US feared that Japan would defeat them, not in war but in business. So the US forced Japan into the Plaza Accord that basically ruined their whole economy. The US dollar had appreciated too strongly versus the Japanese yen, which made American exports less competitive, so the Plaza Accord was drafted to get other countries to sell dollars and buy other currencies such as the yen and the German mark to depreciate the dollar's value. The Japanese real estate bubble of the late 80s and 90s that resulted from this caused a lost generation.

>>44292 >Now maybe you yourself a) aren't White; or b) CBA to GAF; or c) are actually applauding all this like some (((brainwashed))) libshite death-cult golem. I'm white and I'm certainly not applauding this. >If these brown ppl are so """talented & smart""" then why don't they go back to their own lands and fix that instead? They should. The fact is that America has a limited carrying capacity and a nation is its people, and people aren't interchangeable economic units. Liberals tell us that a nation is defined by a patch of land, an economic/political system and its technological infrastructure, and that the population is a neutral. Under their theory, if you swap out the preexisting population for a new population, you'll get the same nation because the land, political system and technology base haven't changed. But experience has shown this to be false - import the third world, become the third world. Biology matters, and different races show different aptitudes, different levels of aptitude and different levels of compatibility with each other race. So instead of trying to fit every race into the west, they should be trying to lift their own countries up. It would actually be a good thing for everybody if the statement (x non-white race) is good at (y STEM field) were true in at least some cases other than Asians, because nations that aren't able to lift themselves out of third world status tend to become war zones, spawning terrorists and breeding grounds for pandemics. So it may be a bit of wishful thinking on my part.

>>44394 With enough mods you can make anything sexy. Really put the "ass" in Asimov, if you will.
>>44393 I notice they felt sure to make so bold to change the 3 laws for their own benefit. Pretty cheeky given the venerated status of such a classic text. 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. * (((Qualified Personnel))) indeed! And where, pray, might such """personnel's""" orders come from? The Burgerland (((Pentagon))), perchance? Yidsrael's (((m*ssad)))? (((Brussels))), mayhaps? Don't get me wrong, we here most-certainly agree with the basic premise : "Anon -- and Anon alone -- has final authority on all things related to his own robowaifu...built just as he himself sees fit." > -- /robowaifu/ addendum #1 to Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics" Some might argue this amounts to exactly the same edit as this company has made. >>44396 To be fair, it makes sense. It would be hard to have a robot walking around if any random stranger could go "lol go kill yourself", which would be a valid command (override 3 by 2) You would need a certified "master list". >>44397 >You would need a certified "master list". Oh completely concur. >>44396 At risk of paraphrasing Mark Tilden... The rules make for good stories, but not so much for actual robots as the rules require higher-level thinking that most platforms are capable of producing (except for LLMs). A more pragmatic set of rules is: 1) A robot must protect its own existence through prevention or action 2) A robot must be able to acquire power for itself 3) A robot must acquire better power sources Colloquially summarized as: 1) Protect thy ass 2) feed thy ass 3) move thy ass to better real estate Then you can worry about higher level stuff later. Its like the brain: first you have the paleo and meso cortex doing basic stuff, then the neo cortex on top. Bros are going "we made a revolutionary robit" when in reality they just made a jumbo robit kit. This is typical of robit marketing: always hyperbole to get noticed.
>>44396 Really, from what I've seen, the AI its running is not impressive. It's trained to walk and the entire robot is open source. You can't really see it doing anything in their videos except walk straight forwards on a flat floor, with safety measures. The only AI I'm actually interested in lately is what The Future AI Society's Brain Simulator (https://github.com/FutureAIGuru/BrainSim-Thought) which is also open‑source. It doesn't really work the same way most typical AI does, but could still learn from their datasets. But just being nearly human height and able to walk due to the training they've already done might be helpful, because I know some people aren't as okay as I am with a robowaifu that hasn't even been taught how to walk and might be put-off by a waifu that just writhes awkwardly on the ground for a few hours until she learns to walk.
>>44411 >Mark Tilden Heh he's quite an accomplished man, so yeah. >This is typical of robit marketing: always hyperbole to get noticed. This. >>44414 Don't misunderstand me, I'm not really trying to promote this company. But I think we should take honest looks at what robit companies out there are doing -- both wrong & right. >Future AI Society's Brain Simulator Intredasting. Thanks, Anon. <---> Cheers, Anons.
Pretty good overview of the current situation in robotics research and looking forward: https://xcancel.com/DrJimFan/status/2052758642781487237 Expect robots trained on orders of magnitude more data to come out within the year. Some of these methods are how GENE26.5 pulled off its highly impressive demos recently. https://www.genesis.ai/blog/gene-26-5-advancing-robotic-manipulation-to-human-level I expect dexterity and longer time horizon tasks of their like to be common place in the next year. They're using the Chinese WUJI hand but didn't disclose it in this article, which to me, means Chinese parts + an open model is going to be sufficient in a year for many usecases.
>>44485 >which to me, means Chinese parts + an open model is going to be sufficient in a year for many usecases. I'm not too certain about the claimed timeframe, but otherwise I think you're right, Anon. Thanks!
