I really like this blogpost, in fact, if you add "..., social pressure, and corporations" to the "state", it's basically the GreerTech ethos.
However, he is way too dismissive of concerns over who rules. Unless you have Anarcho-Technodistributism, the state will remain a perpetual concern. We all know how horrid it can be when a government that outright hates us is in power, and what damage it can wrought, no matter how many times you install Linux. And no, they will not just "leave you alone". You're part of it, whether you like it or not, so you better take care to at least try to make it a good experience. And if you have any sort of social values, which most of us here do, you have to be doubly concerned, because you better hope whoever is in power at the very least pays lip service to your values.
