I feel like Dom had the initial beginning in mind, a generic "princess in sheltered world gets sent outward" story*, but he didn't really know where to go from there. There was a few hints of a conspiracy, but that hasn't gone anywhere so far. ATP it's basically the same poverty slice-of-life story over and over again with a few breadcrumbs every so often. *A story suspiciously similar to the US Astro Boy movie. (Also evil trips checked)
