Galatea v3 Series: Maid Robot GreerTech 05/01/2025 (Thu) 00:54:37 No.38070
For the past year, I have been working on my own robowaifu design. Her name is Galatea. She's currently in the v3 Series. The design is very easy to build with the instructions and files, and is relatively very cheap, around $400 to make. She's also very customizable, you can choose the color, dress, hair, and even AI. I intend this to be the Model T of humanoid robots and robotic companions, while it is not the most complex, it is easy to mass produce and cheap. As of this post, her latest version is v3.0.2 Previous thread: https://trashchan.xyz/robowaifu/thread/74.html
>>42793 >>42796 Well, I don't actually need much of a welcome because I've posted here before. I'm the guy who tried to make the covert ops robowaifu thread and suggested the Robowaifu Legal Defense Fund. But previously I've never been able to come up with any practical technical suggestions that haven't already been thought of. But recently I had an idea that I think might be cool, which is a combination of several ideas from sci-fi. Basically I want something like an AR version of a Jedi holocron from Star Wars, but it's a sphere instead of a cube so it can roll around like the Morph Ball from Metroid. The AR sphere would provide a physical anchor point for an AR waifu allowing her to interact with the real world. It wouldn't provide the same level of tactile feedback as a full-blown robowaifu, but it would be a lot cheaper and potentially usable for non-robowaifu purposes, so it could have a large install base. And it does have the advantage that with AR, you can load up your own waifu holograms instead of being limited to a single fixed form with a physical bot. Is this something you guys think people might want?
>>42806 >and suggested the Robowaifu Legal Defense Fund. That's a great suggestion, Anon! Thank you very much for it. :^) >Is this something you guys think people might want? Are you kidding!? Absolutely. The main issue is that the SW version isn't practical. Holograms don't real. Our own Visual Waifus thread discusses a few ideas along this line, but they all require a physical "screen" substrate in one form or other. If your ball supports a screen of some sort, then that could conceivably work. Otherwise, you'd need to focus on some type of AR / VR approach (also obvs. involving screens). Very cool idea though. GG, Anon. Cheers. :^)
>>42807 Whoa, I wasn't expecting to get a response this fast given how slow this board is. >That's a great suggestion, Anon! Thank you very much for it. :^) Thanks brah, I hope it ends up being helpful. But I always wanted to do more than just be the Steve Jobs guy here. >The main issue is that the SW version isn't practical. Holograms don't real. Yeah, that's why I want to have it be AR-based. The "screen" here is an AR visor rather than something located on the sphere. You'd have the AR sphere establish a connection with an AR visor, and if you look at it through the visor, you can see your hologram waifu.
>>42808 >But I always wanted to do more than just be the Steve Jobs guy here. Lol'd, ngl. :D >You'd have the AR sphere establish a connection with an AR visor, and if you look at it through the visor, you can see your hologram waifu. Totally makes sense in that context then. Do you have any plans for this as a project? I mean do you have parts you're working on making/buying yet? Regardless, good luck with it Anon. Please keep us here all up to date! Cheers. :^) --- I'd think ( >>240 ) is the proper thread to post about it in. Either that or our R&D thread : (currently >>24152 ).

>>42809 Man, I don't know the first thing about how to program an AR hologram waifu, let alone attach her to a Morph Ball that can move around. I've seen a few examples of AR hologram waifus, but none that are attached to a mobile robot. Ideally I'd like this to be a sort of parallel project for robowaifu development. It can be used as not only a visual waifu, but also as a test bed for physical robowaifu systems development. It's possible that AR systems could be used to direct a physical robowaifu's movement, and an AR sphere could integrate with a physical robowaifu for various tasks. But that's undermined by the fact that I don't have any idea to do it. But yes, I should take this to another thread better suited for it, or else just make a new thread.
>>42810 any idea how* to do it
It's been exactly one year since I first posted on this board. What a wacky year it has been. Here's to many more! >>37640

>>43801 Cute. I suppose this is a card for dear Galetea, Anon? :)
>>43802 I made it just an artwork/promotional piece, but the card idea is really good!
>>43803 Why not make a short film of Galatea using AI?
>>43804 I don't have good hardware, and I don't know any good AI movie makers, however... The main reason is that it goes against all my efforts. My main push is that Galatea and robowaifus are real, waifus but real, you can make her today!. Making a fake animation is probably going to hurt my efforts. Plus a lot of AI videos look tacky, with a lot of effort to make it look good and worthwhile. And what can AI video add that real life couldn't?
>>43805 I appreciate your take on this, GreerTech. I also approve greatly your general drive to simplify things so that robowaifus are easy-ish to make for every'non (though I myself will probably go far wide of that mark :P ). Cheers.
>>43805 >And what can AI video add that real life couldn't? Well yeah, you could always do it the old-fashioned way. I just thought animation might appeal to some people.
>>43807 >I just thought animation might appeal to some people. I agree about that general notion. Of course. But you may not be aware that so-called "AI" arts often garners little love among Anons (and quite understandably, given (((who))) controls practically all such systems during Current Year ), usually being referred to as "slop". So while it might be a good endeavor to undertake our own animations here (cf. >>18949, et al), it might prove embarrassing to use AI to accomplish it.

>>43808 Chobitsu said it better than I would've. Frankly, I myself am a good example of what he said. Early 2025 me was so optimistic about AI, but between forced integrations, hardware hoarding, plateauing and broken promises, surveillance, and overall unpleasantness, I've become far more wary about AI. Ofc, this applies to cloud AI, I am 100% for local AI, and I still use cloud AI for information and research. And some Galatea art is AI-created As for animation, it may work. I do use chibi versions of Galatea, like in the kawaii image above.

"Normal words, but a robot girl!"
I have a new thread on /diy/ https://boards.4chan.org/diy/thread/2984255 Curiously, I seem to have already gained a hate following, probably from some safe-edgy neoliberal. But I take that as a good sign, it means I'm having an impact "You have enemies? Why, it is the story of every man who has done a great deed or created a new idea. It is the cloud which thunders around everything which shines. Fame must have enemies, as light must have gnats. Do not bother yourself about it; disdain. Keep your mind serene as you keep your life clear. Do not give your enemies the satisfaction of thinking that they cause you grief or pain. Be happy, be cheerful, be disdainful, be firm.” -Victor Hugo

>>44233 /pol/ is infested with that. A bunch of edgelords trying to out-contrarian each other. I personally think contrarianism is one of the problems afflicting internet society. What's interesting is that the hater trying to ragebait me seems to hate /robowaifu/ in general https://boards.4chan.org/diy/thread/2969431
>>44234 >I personally think contrarianism is one of the problems afflicting internet society. I think you're right. I'd suggest you simply pull away from all of it occasionally. Remember Satan has an agenda behind all this as well...its not just his kike sockpuppets + their supplicants that mean you evil. Degrading your soul over the long term is certainly one of his agendas, and patently glownigger-gayop'd sites like 4cuck makes his job all that much easier. >tl;dr I certainly appreciate all your propaganda & outreach efforts, GreerTech. But I'm also concerned for your own personal welfare. >What's interesting is that the hater trying to ragebait me seems to hate /robowaifu/ in general Ahh, yes. Artbyrobot's intredasting work. Well you already know going in that peteblank is filled with antipathy towards us (me specifically) -- especially when he's on the bottle. The other one I'm unsure of. They're both just exhibiting crab-bucket mentality, AFAICT. BUT I'm fairly confident they aren't going to dissuade our @Artbyrobot. Please don't let them dissuade you either, Anon! :D Keep Moving Forward <---> Please take good care of yourself here, GreerTech. Keep up the good work. Cheers. :)

>>44235 >I think you're right. I'd suggest you simply pull away from all of it occasionally. Remember Satan has an agenda behind all this as well -- its not just his kike sockpuppets + their supplicants. Degrading your soul over the long term is certainly one of his agendas, and clearly-gayop'd sites like 4cuck makes his job all that much easier. >I certainly appreciate all your propaganda & outreach efforts, GreerTech. But I'm also concerned for your own personal welfare. Thank you. I try not to fall for the ragebait, and I realized I am following the Victor Hugo quote, "...Be happy, be cheerful, be disdainful, be firm". I see myself like pre-2026 Trump, I have my haters and I have my supporters, but I'll continue to be bold and make an impact. Interpersonal conflict seems to follow me all my life. >Well you know that peteblank is filled with antipathy towards us (me specifically) -- especially when he's on the bottle. He's actually dropping out of the robowaifu game, at least for now. Now he just posts his family struggles. Funnily enough, in his last days, he stumbled onto the GreerTech design philosophy (second pic). Title: "Went to visit the witch" https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dnHQaNZ614o /diy/ was predictably concerned. They didn't like that he posted her without her consent, leading pete to post this second video https://youtube.com/shorts/KYIo6N0lIog Now he says in my thread that he's working on a rice picking machine. That does actually sound interesting and useful. He should be careful though; I know this one Chinese guy in the 1930's that got his ears caught in a rice picking machine ;) https://youtu.be/xbrk6rfA86U
>>44234 This is a really good picture, did you use AI to make this or just Photoshop?

>>44238 I used AI, specifically ChatGPT. I've always wanted to make the image related but with Galatea, and I thought "why not let ChatGPT have a try?". I'm surprised how well it turned out. Maybe the 90's CGI made it easier for the AI, and/or there have been significant improvements
>>44240 I really like 90s-style 3D rendering, there's something comfy about it that newer graphics don't replicate and I can't quite put my finger on what that is.
>>44241 I think that is because much of the time older 3d renderings are transferred to physical film, so -in a way- the subject of the s0cene does exist physically. Unlike most cinema today.

I'm made Galatea v3.0.9. She has a new body designed from a template from @Kiwi, and a new base. This makes her more symmetrical and have better aesthetic ratios. I'm working on the manual now.
>>44697 Congrats, GreerTech! Thanks for sharing the update -- this is good news. I'm sure @Kiwi will be pleased to hear it. Cheers.
